Yeah Ed definitely knows his stuff too. You've gotta know there's some rivalry going on there, and you're gonna have your guys who are loyal to one side or the other. Your friend may not have had the best Anderson cam to match his combo, whereas Ed may have done a custom grind for him so obviously it'll be better matched and run faster. My buddy has a Curtis cam in his 347 and it'll blow your socks off.
My friends pump gas 352 stroker has been 10.30s with an N-111 in it! Not too shabby considering what he has done to it!
This engine went 10.59@128 all motor. He had much better heads than i'll be using but i'm expecting something in the 11s if i don't break anything first, which i probably will
I ordered a Ed grind a few months back, just have not got it all finished yet. Im hoping for some more poop, but I have changed to long tubes and raised the compression some so it will be hard to tell what just the cam itself did. Had I not went with a custom grind from Ed I would have used the AFM N-71 possibly the N-91.
you're crazy! you are literally the FIRST person ive heard say anything negative about them. afm cams are arguably the best ots cams you can get before you go custom. i have one and i love it most of the time when someone runs an afm cam it's one of their off the shelf cams. ed only does custom grind so you're more than likely comparing an ots afm cam to a custom grind ed curtis cam. very true
