Any idea why my engine sometimes stalls while shifting gears?

Usually this happens when I'm backing out of a parking spot. I'll back out, push in the clutch to put it into first and as soon as I do that the engine will just stall. This happened today while I was slowly pulling into a parking lot. I came to a near stop and as I was moving the shifter from 2nd to 1st the engine stalled, the clutch pedal was fully depressed so I don't think it has anything to do with that. Thanks for any help...I'm just concerned that this may start happening more often than it does now. :/

Any codes? How is the cold idle?

The IAC holds the idle higher than normal when the vehicle is in a state of rolling idle.

You didn't get any codes at all? One would have expected it to spit an idle-limit code.

If you feel up to it, you might want to ensure there are no vac leaks and clean the IAC. Only do the latter if prepared to replace it (sometimes they don't like being cleaned).
