Anyone confirm GT can run on regular gas without problems?

It can run on regular, but makes full power/torque on premium. Plus, at many gas stations (at least where I am), premium has the added benefit of being ethanol free.

I buy whatever it takes to stay away from ethonal. That stuff is bad news and they are talking about going to 15%. It costs more to produce and the government ( spelled WE ) is subsidizing the cost.

Why would you want to run regular gas in a car that performs better with premium? We dyno'd a 2011 5.0 auto with regular gas that made 352HP/311TQ everyone thought those numbers were pretty low until the owner mentioned the gas.

That dyno must be on crack. no way a few octane ratings resulted in 50 HP.

Higher octane gas does not make power, it only increases the threshold before detonation (if you're close to detonation to begin with), which can be avoided with good tuning and combustion chamber and piston crown shape.

With that said, Ford says you can run 87 and what the effects are. However, I assume the midrange power difference is much greater than the peak power numbers show.
