On the drivers side of the intake manifold (84 carbed 302) in the back is some type of sensor. It has a vac tree with 3 ports (none are hooked up). I took it out and the part that goes into the intake resembles a temp sensor. Anyone know what this is? Do I need to figure out what is supposed to be hooked to it or can I just pull it and block it off since it has not been hooked up. Also there is something beside it (middle of manifold towards passenger side) that is not hooked up. I assume that this is the EGR valve that I'm gonna plug. It has some vac ports on the back of it (not hooked up) also. My engine surges while idling and I'm throwing darts in the dark that it may be a vac problem.? I've got various other vac lines unhooked that I'm tracing. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
