Just trying to gather some intel on what might be involved in this swap. I have a 87 EFI 5.0 and aod tranny already to go into a 77 2+2 t-top that had an old beat up 302 with a 4 speed in it. I need some good advice on this project so who better to ask than you guys.

Thanks jeff, this must not be a very popular swap. There's not much on the net about it. I,m going for a complete drivetrain swap. I wonder if it would even be worth the trouble. The mpg's and power with EFI and overdrive, sure is tempting to try

The T-5 swap is much more popular than the AOD from what I've seen. Since your cars already setup for a manual trans you should consider that.

Theres a guy in Northern Utah that did it. I saw his car at the Utah stangs show but I dont think he's hooked up or online to find him.

I,ve been reading some of the other threads and got another scary idea. I have a complete 91 3.8 supercoup. So a good question would be v8 or v6. Stock they are both about the same HP. They have the same tranny bolt pattern and engine mounts. I now SC's have several issues but engine weight to Hp and torque. AS far as using a T5 swap. I've thought about that once, but the price is a little out of my range right now. Besides I have several AODs laying around and they can be built to perform.
