Anyone with Hooker SuperComps/Borla XR-1's?

Hi, I have a basically stock, fully rebuilt 289 with the Edelbrock Performer package (cam, lifters, intake, carb) and a set of new ceramic-coated Hooker SuperComps. I'm thinking of having some Borla 304 stainless tubing (either 2.25" or 2.5") bent just like on the '65 Shelby GT350 (maybe with 60 degree bends or so) and running round Borla XR-1 Sportsman mufflers. I have Borla XR-1 mufflers on my '98 Cobra and really like the sound. Do you think this setup would sound good on my fairly mild 289? I've never heard of anyone using this setup on a classic Mustang; any experience/advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do those of you running Borlas just use their standard Turbo mufflers? Ever heard of anyone using round sportsman XR-1's on a street small-block?
