counties covered under the Illinois air team?
I was thinking of getting some for sound and also some
low- end tq naturally aspirated. I have an '01 4.6 gt
and will have to get passed next year- (I haven't been tested yet)
Let me know, because if they're not emissions legal I'm SOL. Thanks.

i dont think they are "legal" in the sense that IL wants them to be but ive heard of people passing with all the tricks and using a catted pipe. i was thinkin about getting 2 straight pipes made with my stock cats when emissions comes around again next year (sick of doing it every 2 years). so no they arent "legal" but yes, ive heard of people passing with them.

thanks- They're constantly changing the tests every year.
I am not sure if their is catted pipe available for long tubes. If available, I don't see why it should not pass. I don't think the inspectors have to pop the hood or even run it on a dyno on any 97+ car.

Btw, hazmat404 you're in my neck of the woods, I'm from Brookfield,
maybe you've seen me driving like an ahole down ogden. Smilie.

idot requires odbII tests now. inspectors are supposed to "look" and visually convfirm you have cats, then they just run your computer and if your not throwing a code, ur good. just dont go in there running open headers or uncapped cutouts and you'll be fine if you have a relatively new car.
