I'm not sure how this is going to sound...whether it be praise or bashing but here goes...

:notnice: First of all there is cost. Which imho Bassani is just too expensive. I paid over 1k for a Bassani X pipe(with cats) and Bassani Catback and that's from someone who sells it cheap lol.

:notnice: Then there is design. The design for the tailpipes in my opinion is inferior compared to magnaflow. I've seen both setups in person on mustang gt's and it really surprises me how magnaflow is able to offer so much clearance from the tailpipes(maybe 4+ inches) to the tires while bassani feels the brings the tailpipe so close to the tire that 315s can't fit, well at least in my situation. :( I've had an exhaust shop cut and reweld my tailpipes so that i could fit the 315 drag radial. And now that I had to replace my tailpipes due to me bottoming out the car in a ditch. I have to do it all over again to fit the 315 drs. :(

:notnice: Bassani Cats - I've heard many people say how bassani used bad cats and what not but I thought they fixed their problem when I bought it in Oct 02. I guess not. :( Recently I noticed that my cats have gone bad and are rattling around inside...you can hear the pieces bouncing around inside at idle and at certain rpms. I've spoken to bassani regarding this and they seem to want to work with me but I'm not sure...I'm getting an uneasy feeling from them but well see.

:nice: Then there is sound :hail2: I honestly love the way the exhaust sounds and for that reason alone I have bought the same exhaust setup on my 2000 GT and 2002 GT. Video Clips of my Bassani exhaust

    Just felt like sharing... :)

I have had no problems with Bassani. But I have never had the Catted x pipe. I here people do have problems getting Bassani to cover the cats under Warranty if they have been scraped. Good luck. I love Bassani and have had the system on 2 stangs now.
    Good luck!

I wanted Bassani first... but the cost definately got me looking at other stuff. I'm happy with my Magnaflow stuff but Bassani has a real nice sound too :)

cost was the reason I did not buy bassani. I love the sound though.

I have had the borla stingers and the magnflow systems before I bought my Bassani setup. Personally, I think the bassani has the best fit, finish and sound. I even have their catted x-pipe. It is the new bassani x-pipe that has removable cats and they have also included race-pipes in the kit if i ever decide to take the cats out and go off-road. I personally have had no problems but only compliments from all my friends and car show individuals that have heard my previously setups which were with the bassani catted xippe and borla stinger catback or magnaflow catback, even they claim that the bassani sounds the best. Given i did the exhaust install myself, everything went up perfect and I have had no problems whatsoever I am thoroughly satisified and will put bassani exhaust on every mustang I own for the rest of my life as long as they are in business. The only regret i have is wasting the money on the borla stinger and magnflow setups when all along i could have had the bassani setup and been happy. Anyways, that's my spin on bassani exhaust. :nice:

I didn't buy the Bassani Catback for the same
    reason.I didn't want to spend 700.00 alone just on a catback but,I
admit I love the sound of the Bassani Catback but,I don't like the
sound of the price so,I decided to get a Flowmaster origanal 40 series
american thunder catback with 21/2" tips and I love the sound of it
but,too bad it didn't add as much hp as the Bassani catback.
Deadlurker I think your stang sounds awesome! :nice:

I love mine as well. The price was hard to swallow, but to me it was worth it because nobody else has them in my area, and the sound is amazing. I have your same problem as well in regards to the tires. With 265's, they still come about an inch from the tailpipe. So when I upgrade my tires, I will have to do something about it.

I also have the Bassani Catted X and the cat back pipe. I run 285's and dont have a problem rubbing. I did have one of the cats go out on me. Wether or not it was from a bad cat or maybe because I have a SC I dont know. I called up Bassani and they shipped me a new style ( I had the one piece before) catted X pipe for something like $170. When I returned the other one and they deemed it warranty they would refund my money. I never did send it back and sold it to someone for $150. All I know is if I ever have to buy exhaust for a new car again it will be Bassani.

AS far as cost goes I bought mine in a Grouop Buy. It was awhile, but the X was $450 shipped and the cat back was $525...... Something like that...it has been 2 years....I hope that helps anyone looking :D

So do you think it might be better to order another x pipe from them and then when i send the defective one to them and they see it's really defective that they credit me the money. They told me I have the 3 piece version and that they just want to send me the cats or so i'm lead to believe. Still no responce from them though. :(

This is freakin killin me!! I want to run a Bassani X soooooo bad!! I was over the hurdle of making the decision when I heard they are using new cats. Now it's not a bolt on set-up right???? If this is the case I either have to o/r get a magnaflow catted X. I swallowed the price on the cat back cuz I was doing the install and I was willing to choke it down again, but if I can't "bolt" it on and have to get it welded I might not do it now. :( someone hold me, I'm going to cry.

When one of my cats went bad I called Bassani and they told me to send it back and if it was under warranty ( they said no visual damage from being hit ) then they would refund my money. The first X pipe I had was the 1 piece, they sent me the 3 piece and it just bolted right back in there. I would assume they just want the cat and thats all. Let me know how it turns out.

That would probably be my best bet...have them send me another. And then I can swap them out and put the old one in the box they sent and send it back to them and then have them refund my money when they see it's defective.

So the new set-up IS "bolt-on"!!!! Hmmm....do the cats hang low so officer piggy can see them, or are they up by the engine out of sight?

They are low enought to where they can be seen. Kinda hard if the car is lowered though.

I have had my Bassani Xpipe w/cats for 2 yrs and catbacks for 1 yr. I love them. I would buy them again, although the Magnaflows would be my 2nd coice.

Looks like Bassani is looking for any possible reason not to warranty it. I'm almost at the point where I feel I should share the emails I've received from them with you guys.
