I need one, I have been looking at optimas. is the yellow or red top better?

There both better than most batteries, I think the yellow is for people
who drain a lot of power for a huge audio set up or a winch or something.
Ive got the red top and it gets the job done, no problemo.

Correct, if you don't have some humongous stereo setup or anything that really pulls on the electrical system then the Red Top will be fine for you.

the red top should work with simco guages and and lcd screen cd player right? thats not too much of a draw?

Oh yea, it'll be fine. Those things won't even tax it at all.
