Any of you guys been playing the multiplayer demo of this?

I downloaded it a couple days ago and I've been playing it A LOT. The multiplayer on this game seems like a whole lot of fun, I think I might put in a preorder for it.

Can I ask from an objective standpoint: "Why would I want to buy BF:BC2 when I have MW2?"

Seriously - (objectively again) how is this going to be better/on par with MW2?

I hear BF:BC1 was a lot of fun (i personally never played it...wanted to get it but then i saw an article for the release of BC2 and held off..and during the meantime I acquired MW2)

I really liked the first one, but the fact that it was just one game mode online was gay.

Ive been playing the demo. Sniping is hard, but the other classes are ok. I got the XM8, SCAR, and M249 unlocked. If they have more than one game mode online then I may pick it up. But if they dont, then I will not get it. I LOVE the huge maps and stuff, but just one game mode is teh ghey.

And a little off topic. Why the hell do people still put the XM8 in games? It was a failed design that never even made it into production. Pretty damn ugly too.

I preordered the game last night.

Online mode looks like a lot of fun (I guess there are two different modes? I dunno, and hopefully several maps) and the single player game looks like it could be pretty cool too. I've had my PS3 for a year and a half and I have not bought a single brand new game for it, so I figured why the hell not.

As far as the difference from MW2...couldn't tell you, I haven't played a Battlefield game since Battlefield 1942 on my PC, and the Battlefield 1943 demo.

I have seen a lot of people and friends who are fed up with MW2's problems such as camping and exploitation of glitches in the game (which Infinity Ward seems to be slow on fixing or doesn't want to). My friends have been trying to find a similar game to replace MW2 for a while now, they initially had hope in MAG but were disappointed by the beta. Bad Company 2 has impressed them, but objectively when compared to MW2 I think both are different games.

RedDaemon, there are big differences between the Call of Duty and Battlefield games. Probably the hallmark of the Battlefield franchise is pilotable vehicles, and that in itself distinguishes it from the Modern Warfare series a lot. For example, the maps are much larger and there are fewer buildings and enclosed spaces (which is probably a result of the inclusion of vehicles). I find much of MW2 is mostly close quarters combat, the only real map that actually resembles a military battlefield IMO is Wasteland.

I also find having played MW2 and the BC2 demo that people are more inclined to follow the objectives in BC2 than in MW2. I always feel like in MW2 people played the non-deathmatch modes as if it was deathmatch, where as with BC2 you actually see people planting and defusing bombs a lot.

The pacing in BC2 is much slower than MW2, so I think this may turn off quite a few people who want things fast and quick. However, I think the Battlefield franchise has passed its peak and its transition to console gaming hasn't been 100% smooth, IMO.

One last thing, I do find it funny when I see people dumping their entire assault rifle ammunition into a tank in hopes they'll some how destroy it. That's what I like about BC2, there seems to be slightly more realism than MW2.

I'm thinking this game will be more popular once it comes out (in a week and a half).

I have found myself addicted to the multiplayer, and that's just playing the demo with only one level, two weapons per class, and a limited assortment of vehicles and other things available. I'll admit I haven't actually played any of the newer COD games aside from an online demo of WaW (which was you and a few other online people doing a mission from the game...and that was pretty fun for what it was, I still might pick that game up at some point), so I don't really know what they're like. But I do like the looks of the expansive maps and vehicles on BC2.

Can't wait to pick this up on the 2nd and I plan to devote an evening to it when I get it :D

I've played it twice now. Pretty cool, but I still go back to MW2.

Do you really think a different game is going to stop "camping"? Really? Not gonna happen. Once those 10 year olds get on there, it'll be camp city. I hear this game comes with a pup tent as standard equipment. What else should you do once you set a charge? The one good thing about it will be the spawn tickets. You will only be able to respawn x amount of times as an attacker (or was it defender?)

The destructible environments, IMO will go a long way to minimize camping.

Yep, that's true...you can mow down every tree and bush in the game with a tank just by driving over them. That will clear out any camping snipers! :D
