I am about ready to mate my new lenses with my old Tail light housings, but i am curious to know which method you guys think is the best. I can Leave the old black glue In the housings, snap the new lenses in, and then silicone fill the gaps, OR i could chip out the old stuff, put new silicone in, and then stick them together. What have you guys found that works for you? Also what kind of silicone should i use to "glue" them together. I have use clear windshield sealer in the past on stuff, but is there something better suited to this task? I am open to suggestions.

I just pealed my old ones out and then took a small screw driver and cleaned all the old black sealant out and took the clips off. Then I put the new black tar like sealant and clips on then pushed the lenses on. I filled the top gap of the housing with black RTV just to keep any water that might sit up there out! Its been a year and I never had any water or moisture in the lenses.

BTW what kind of lenses did you get? I put smoked ones on mine
