i just finished converting all of my interior gauge and accessory lights to blue led's and installed sirius satellite radio. now i want to replace my 3 1/2 dash speakers and 5x7 rear speakers. i've been looking all over hell and high water here in charleston sc and can't find good ones anywhere. i went online and the pickings are pretty slim. best buy has some but their prices are outrageous. i even tried crutchfield and they only have a very few. any ideas where i can find a good selection? i have all sony in my car with the exception of the sirius receiver, and i'd like to stay with sony.
hey man, go to the new wally world around the block.. the 4 way sony 220 watts are freakin awesome.. sound really good with a good headunit.. just bought a ranger and i want to put all sony speakers in it
hey stranger hey man, how have you been? i passed your dad in traffic today. i saw his blue mustang go by. i went by wal-mart tonight in an act of desparation and they didn't have any 5x7, 6x8 or 3 1/2 speakers. i was hoping i would get lucky and score some good sony's, but so far no luck. how's your gt coming along? i cleaned mine up a little today. my new heads are still sitting in the shipping boxes waiting to be installed when i find the time. see you around man.
well i sold the gt a gooooodd while ago.. as well as the blue GT.. i bought the 90 as just a project.. now its got 00 GT brakes and5 lug going on it.. with black interior.. bought a Z28 which is about 450 horse.. and is bad as hell.. but sold it and just bought a 99' 4x4 ranger so i can tow are drag car.. 82 notchback we built.. lol.. been busy i have a set of rear speakers.. 3 ways.. the plus's
do not go to crutch field or Wally World. on ebay...the store TheDeepDiscount has amazing deals, just make sure you know what sizes you need. Crutchfield is good to figure out the sizes. should be 5x7's for the rear, and 3.5's up front. Sony SUCKS...dont get sony.
matter of preference and opinion.. besides what you do with it.. sony is a good speaker for not doing an amp.. with an amp i suggest an even better brand..
i have sony speakers that are getting put in my stang tomorrow. i was going to do it today but i got busy with other things. sony's sound good IMO.
been there, done that i checked with crutchfield first thing, and for the first time i was disappointed. usually they have a good selection, but this time they didn't have that much to offer. i believe that the 3 1/2 and 5x7/6x8 speakers aren't as common as they used to be. i'll find my sony's eventually. thanks for all the input. and if you're considering satellite radio, do it. i just got sirius and i love it. simple, pretty cheap and it works great.
Ditto on Wal-Mart and the Sony's. I made the mistake of buying those stupid Lightning Audio 5x7's last year, and I hate the friggin' things with a passion - I was poor(er) at the time, and desperate to have something back there (car had none in place when I bought it). No matter what brand anyone throws out there, someone else will always counter that there's another better brand. Just go to an audio display and compare examples by ear. The Sony Xplode series speakers are a pretty good bang for the buck, from my experience.
I personally go to Tweeter for most of my cars. Id put a set of 1.5" Tweeters in the dash where the small speakers are and maybe a 6.5" Component set for the front. And the usual 3 ways for the rear. But if you stang is like mine and kinda loud...then you already have nice tunes to listen to. lol
yea... man that was a while ago LOL i guess you missed that one.. it got painted and everything.. guys takin care of it
i had to get the 3.5 inchers from circuit city but got the rest of the system in alpine from crutchfield with a kicker truck box
