I have been having trouble with soft brakes since I did my 5 lug swap. Nothing seems to help at all. I have bleed the brakes over and over, I replaced all the soft line with stainless from MM. I still have soft brakes. I was reading a thread last night about having the front calipers on the wrong side, causing air to be trapped about the bleeder. There was some confusion on weather the bleeder should point up or back. Does anyone know for sure? I think this may be my problem.

the bleeder should, obviously, be at the highest point in the calipers cylinder. i just did an 87 upgrade to my 86 for better brakes, and there was not a way to put the caliper on the wrong side, the hose would not allow it. you likely still have air trapped somewhere. this happened to me years ago on an 86 shelby charger after a minivan brake upgrade. you either have to repetitively bleed them or power bleed them. and if you let the master cylinder run dry at any point while bleeding them, you have to start over.
