I just sold my 03 N/A Saleen last month. I will be looking for an 04 S/C Speedster in the next couple of months. I might even wait until Feb. when my wife and I get our bonus checks. I've seen a few new 04 Speedsters still at the dealerships. The one I am looking at right now now is brand new with the anniversary speedster package with all Saleen options for $47,000. They show a discount of $8,000. Is that a pretty good price or could they go lower?
Check the NADA Blue Book values & negotiate a price from there. The dealer will attempt to claim it as a "new" car, but it is still a leftover from two prior model years & thus will likely be anxious to rid themselves of the excess inventory. After all, they've already paid for the car & the longer they keep it, they are out whatever costs are involved in retaining it on their lot.
I dunno about a speedster, but I just got my buddy a loaded, S/C coupe out the door and shipped to CA for 37K. Wheel and chrome upgrade, brake upgrade, floor mats, everything.
