UFC champ Brock Lesnar deemed 'very sick' after collapse in Canada - Posted Sports It should be interesting to so see what happens. Maybe too many steriods, too much training?
Ummm, this isn't really Fight Club material even though the name of this forum is Fight Club... Moved to The Short Bus.
You noob, we have a sports section. You moderate it! Moved to The Sports Bar. Edit: Wow, I just read the article and wish the guy well. I've only been getting into UFC fairly recently, so I'm not sure about how well liked/disliked Lesnar is, but I do know that he's a massive guy. I'd be thinking collapse = some sort of cardiac event, and he might be looking at open heart surgery, or something.
Not to be a jerk or anything but maybe he is trying to get clean in case he has to be tested for performance enhancing drugs. The fight keeps getting push back for a couple different things now.
Highly doubt it's due to steroids, if it's a flu the steroids would actually help prevent him from getting it by boosting his immune system function. Sounds like it's something in the intestinal tract...and "supposedly" he's in a hospital about 2 hours from here.
The last fight got pushed because of Mir. Whatever it is I find it odd that it's such a big secret. Maybe he's having a sever outbreak of the herp..........
That was my first thought too actually...Supposedly it is something involving his intestinal tract though.
Love him or hate him....you can't deny that the guy is a wrecking machine. You can't argue with talent. Maybe he picked up the H1N1 virus thats going around. That'll lay you up for a while.
Wow, interesting. Hope he recovers. I enjoy watching him fight because is so fast for his size. I keep waiting for someone to take him down now too.
I second all of that! I think even the "unstoppable" Fedor would have his hands more than full with Lesner. He may have come from the fake world of WWE but I think people will realize just because and athlete chooses fake fight doesn't mean they are not capable of doing both if givin the right training. On a side note of the UFC/WWE worlds colliding: Shane McMahon recently met with UFC officials in Las Vegas for an exploratory meeting. As far as we know, nothing was signed and nothing happened that would result in negotiations being broken off. Within WWE, both on the creative and talent sides, it's believed that Shane will end up with UFC eventually. It's possible that Shane may do something with UFC like he did with WWE as the President of Global Media and help UFC expand internationally. A good friend of Shane's and former President of WWE Canada, Carl DeMarco, also met with UFC officials separately last week. Sources within WWE speculate that Shane and Carl may end up going to UFC as a package.
I think Lesnar has great capabilities. The size and power alone make him a tough opponent....and he seems to be learning quickly as well. He may not be the best fighter ever, but I think he's on his way to becoming a great fighter if he can recover from his illness. I know there is a lot of hate towards Kimbo too....but just the bit I see of him on the TV show....he seems very willing to learn and work hard. If he could learn some decent ground game....he'd probably be a pretty good fighter too. Anyways, props to them both for the hard work they do! I surely couldn't do it. I only have biceps because my beer is too heavy.
From what I saw so TUF with Kimbo I liked, but I was watching Inside MMA on HDNet one day and Bas Ruten didn't have many positive things to say about Kimbo. I don't remember the whole deal but the two of them were having some type of pissing match through the media. Kimbo will be in the UFC and we'll soon see though wont we!
I'm as skeptical as the next guy. Kimbo showed his weaknesses on TUF....and he admitted to it. What I give him respect for is knowing he needs to learn alot to hang in the UFC....and wanting to do it. He seems to beg for it. Even after TUF....I hope one of the camps picks him up and trains him right. I have a feeling he's the type that is willing to learn and run with it. I think he's shown he can be a heck of a boxer...and he's strong as ****.....but he's gotta a lot to do on his ground game. I only give him props cuz he seems like he wants to learn the ground game. For the sake of the sport....I'd love to see him train in it, and come back out. Ok Ok.....Lesnar is HUGE! Lets go back to roots....Gracie....the original. Back in the days of UFC 1 where they would fight like 3 matches in a night. MOFO would use his grappling on anything and everything, including a Sumo dude. For ****s and giggles....I'd love to see Royce Gracie in his prime vs. Lesnar. My money would be on Royce. He'd duck the first punch and put that mofo in some crazy spider move and snap his arm.
Hopefully he does get a good camp that can train him right and we can see some more of him. His time on TUF did make him seem like a pretty cool dude. IDK how much faith I have in Gracie. Brock is a whole different beast than anything we have seen before.
Troof....but it would still be fun to see. It goes to my respect for a grappler (SP?).....that dude took down way more people than I ever thought he would back in his day. Granted that was at least 15 years ago.....but who would not want to see him against Lesnar. Either way....humanity speaking....good health to you both. Sports speaking....bring it! Soooo.....just for discussion....if Lesnar does not come back....where does the title go? Who are the top 2 contenders that should battle it for the title?
