I was thinking about getting an air induction system and the associated tuner online. I have been looking at ebay and craiglist. I cant seem to get my search specific enough for either site. Is there other site where you can find products like these without paying the retailer's price? Is there any specific search criteria for using sites like ebay and craigslist?

Just go to the tuners site and by it. I doubt you will find a tuner that will sell their products at a discounted price on ebay while having full retail on their own site. I also doubt you would get the same quality customer service from an ebay vendor.

uprproducts has the JLT cold air kit, SCT X3 Tuner and custom tunes for life for $499. This is hard to beat as everyone else is $150-200 more (especially the Diablo Tuner).

I don't know that I've heard of anyone running UPR tunes. I'd stick with a tuner with a solid track record.

+1, I'm not knocking UPR but I haven't heard any feedback on their tunes, I would go with a proven and well known tuner like bamachips or brenspeed.

Do you live in a state which cares about things like after market engine modifications? Are you willing to return your car to stock before your inspection?

I'd just fork over the extra dough & order from TillmanSpeeed, Bamachips, or Brenspeed. You'll be MUCH happier with one of those 3 over ebaY or AmericanMuscle.

Brenspeed, order on line, answer the simple questions they send you in an email so they can build the tune,, 7-10 days get the box from your door step, install in about 30 minutes,, Go burn up what’s left of your tires, and then come back and start a new thread about who has the best deals on tires and wheels

Agreed. So I still buy it then have brenspeed or bamachips do the tune. Still cheaper in the long run.

I agree. Get the intake first because Doug from Bama will need to know the brand of your intake among other things e.g transmission, engine code.....

I'm very happy with my SCT. It changed my shift points. I really HAAAATE the stock tune for the automatic.

SCT SF3 tuner is not the same as the X3

Go to SCT's web site. The SF3 does not have the ability to load in custome tunes. You are limited to SCT's canned tunes. You may want that. But in case you don't, hit up bama, brene, or Tilliman for their tuner/cai offerings.

No. But lets have another look.

    SCT Automotive Performance Products
    vs
    SCT Automotive Performance Products

Missing from the SF3 feature list is
    • Stores up to 3 Custom Tune Files

Missing from the X3 feature list is
    • Pre-Loaded with Dyno Proven Tune Files

Could be the way I am reading it, but I thought it was worth a mention.
