To each his own, but when i get another 5.0, this bassani street comp system is going on it, it supposedly flows great too. Thought i'd share.

3.55MB (borla stingers on a 4.6L and bassani street comp mufflers on a 5.0L):

The 5.0 sounds really good, although I dont like MAC exhaust. You can really hear the difference in the 4.6, sounds like crap (I switched from a MAC to Bassani on my 98 Cobra and it made all the difference in the world). Keep up the good work though.

    Hey,

Did you have a MAC O/R H pipe? The reason I ask, is because on my 96 Cobra, I have a MAC O/R H pipe with 2 chamber flows and it has a really loud raspy sound between 2300 and 3100.. It is very annoying and I dont think it sounds all that great.. I was thinking about going with a Bassani catted X, but I dont know if it will sound any different.. Just curious on your opinion.. Sorry to Hijack..

Yes. I put on a MAC O/R H-pipe with Dynomax SS mufflers/catback. With the MAC H-pipe, it sounded exactly like the one in the video, raspy. When I switched to the Bassani (O/R H) it changed dramatically to the familiar rumble of a Mustang. I hear the BBK pipe has the same sound. If I had it to do over again, I would go with longtube headers and a shorty H-pipe, the 4.6s really love long tubes.

I've got the Bassani catted X and catback on my car (with FRPP shorties) and think it sounds great. Get a lot of compliments on the sound from people.

Here's a video I made where you can hear the exhaust on my stock motor and with the new built motor:

The camaro sounded a bit sloppy (maybe just the sound recording because it was so loud) but it had a wicked snarl when he let off the throttle.
