I just bought desk-top dyno and was testing some new cams in my 306. Found out I have way to much duration in my current cam! Which is a lunati<Centerline (108),Duration @.50 intake(290)Exaust(300),Lift Intake(544),Exaust(560).
HP. TQ.
2500-92 193
3000-115 201
4000-180 236
5000-(258) (271)
6000-254 222
6500-253 205
My new cam is going to be a Lunati VooDoo #61011>Centerline(108),Duration@50 Intake(221),Exaust(229),Lift Intake(549),Exaust(565).
HP. TQ.
2500-203 426
3000-245 (429)
4000-313 411
5000-(346) 364
6000-326 286
6500-308 249
So don't just get a big cam that makes your car sound like a beast! If you want to run your car make sure you put some thought into what power range you plan on operating at. I haven't ran my car much, mostly just show it but now I want more. I'm working on a 383 but lost my job so now I'm trying to find cheaper ways to improve my current Motor. Cam seems to be my best bet. :Track:

The number @ 50 on the first post are advertised duration. Not at 50.

Desktop dyno isnt really a good tool for comparing 2 cams. I look at the software as kindof a toy.

Search and ask around, im sure everyone here can recommend an even better cam for your combo.

:nono: No 306 with 165s is going to make 429 ft/lbs on fuel injection. DTDyno is a pretty accurate program.....IF....you're putting in the right settings for everything, this is most likely just a goof with a few of the settings....head type, cfm flow, etc...if adjusted correctly should give proper numbers. I'm at work now, but I could double check mine when I get home and see what I come up with for the same combo
