Engine Cam Upgrade

Ok putting new head gaskets on and while torn down want to upgrade cam. Stock eng stock heads stock air intake fornow. Thinking either e303 or f303. I need suggestions. Any insight would help also how much better are 1.7 rockers vs stock

F303 is too much for a completely stock motor. I don't think the valve springs will handle it either. I would just do the 1.7 rockers. No point in tearing the timing cover off if your not putting heads and an intake on it as well.

Keep the stock cam and wait to do a cam when you swap heads.

What if i just went with e303, and 1.7s i just want it to lop a bit.

An e cam and 1.7's will very likely expose worn valve springs.

Therefore i agree. Don't bother with the cam. It's not worth the hours of work without the heads.

Ok thanks. Ill just stick wity the stock for now and then dump some money in it when i get some lol. Sounds like i would have wasted alot of money with your advice

I know for a fact you will lose hp. Don't do this. You want it to lope? Pull a vac line.
