can you store unused battery ?

When I totaled my 99, I keep the 6 month old Optima red top. That was 2 years
ago. So its been on the shelf since then in storage. The factory battery in my
04 is still OK so I dont need to change it out yet. Question: If I charge up
the red top will it still be good?

I don't see why not. I store unused batteries all the time with no problems.
