Can't get T5 to seat completely to Bell housing

I have a centerforce II clutch with corresponding disc, this is a 347 stroker crank w/ new pilot bearing,new fork, release bearing, flywheel and pivot ball.
I can get the t5 through the splines of the disk but the rear bearing retainer housing won't seat to the bell housing. Its about 3/16" away from the bellhousing.
I have taken the bell housing off to see how it fits onto the T5 and its ok.
I put the clutch disk onto the input shaft splines ant its good.
I used the alignment tool when I put the clutch on the flywheel. -- Looks good
I don't want to put this engine in the car until I can get this T5 problem figured out, any help will be appreciated.

can you pull the bell housing and clutch and pick the tranny up and see if the inputshaft is going all the way into the pilot bearing?

I got the T5 to seat on the bellhousing. I released the clutch as my buddy pushed the tranny in and it seated all the way. I guess the clutch disk wasn't totally aligned with the pilot bearing.

The cheap plastic alignment tools aren't all that great. Sometimes they just don't work right as you found out.

use a c-clamp on the clutch fork to disengage the clutch, this should make the trans easier to slide in

Yup, depress the clutch when your as far as you can go and then it should pop right into place.
