Just as the title says, which coolant expansion tank is better? They look the same and are about the same price. I would prefer one that has no name carved into it. Down the road I will be getting a matching power steering tank and like the Moroso cap better

So lets see some pics of the tanks for those of you that have them :nice:

I can't answer your question, but I do have the Moroso ps reservoir. Its an awesome piece. Really nice welds and the cap is high quality also. I prefered it over the Canton because it looked less blingy in pics (brushed al and black cap vs. chrome looking on the Canton).

I do have a Canton oil pan, so I know they also make high quality parts.

PFab is $70 more and really needs the matching I/C tank to look right.

I've had the Canton tank for about 3 years or so. Mine just came with a decal that can easily be peeled off. I've got a different cap on it now with a running pony.

me to :( until I get my blower in a few months :)

Laser, I was just thinking about the same thing yesterday.
I want to do the power steering tank and the coolant tank also.

AS far as I read with the coolant tanks. There both pretty much the same, only difference is the Moroso accepts the factory cap. But, the factory cap would look :ack: on a nicely aluminum tank

I think I may go with the Canton because I can get a different pressure cap. Mabey get one with the red release lever so it matches my intercooler tank a little. I heard from somebody at SVTP that the Cantons have crappy welds. Anyone else hear that?

    Bill,

The Moroso tank is MUCH better than the Canton one due to it using the factory cap. It may look ugly but it works!

The Canton ones do not use the factory caps so they were building too much pressure and bursting!!!! This has happened more times than I could count.

There is 0 benefit with running one of these other than looks. I would just stick with the stock one IMO.

If you just have to have one then get either the Moroso one or PFAB from Lethal Performance. Both use the factory cap. :nice:

The Canton is avaliable with the factory cap too
I wanted the Moroso cause I want the Moroso Power steering tank latter on. And yes its just a looks thing. I figure since I will be draining the system to install the head cooling mod that I may as well do the tank at the same time since I want a nice looking one

I like the PFab but cant justify spending another $70 for it when it wont match what I have anyway

Ok. If Canton is using a factory cap now too then I assume it would work. But I would still stay away from it due to previous faliures.

I would most likely go with Moroso if I had to choose. :nice:

Maybe they've changed the Canton since I got mne, but you could'nt use your factory stock radiator cap on the Canton tank. Ironically, when I ordered mine they asked if I wanted a cap thrown in and when I got the tank they had given me a Moroso cap. It's a #7 cap, 8-10psi. Never had a problem, but I have seen one pic of one that burst in the front welds.

My canton split in two one day, right along the front weld. Im getting a moroso next time.
