well i got me a video of my car running a 7.38 @ 87 mph on a track that is 66 ft short of a real 1/8th mile...this would probably equate to a 7.6-7.7 (i think) on a true 1/8th...it's usually about 4 tenths a difference... i pulled a 1.71 60'
87mph = 127.6 feet per second. 66ft at 87mph takes .52 seconds. so the difference is actually about .5 seconds for your car. you'd probably run a 7.9 @ 89-90mph in the 1/8th.
that tracks looks an awful lot like the one in irvington, al. i've run there a couple times. is that where u were? if so where u from?
yes, obviously he is accelerating. but how much acceleration do you think his car is going to do over 66 feet? not much. even if he were to gain 5mph in 66ft (not gonna happen at his power level) it's still only 135 feet per second. it would still take him .5 seconds. note that i estimated his trap speed faster than 87mph.
Where I race at US131 (Knoll Gas Motorsports Park) has an ET @ 594’ and I ran 7.0521 and my 1/8 was 7.5201 @ 96.15mph. DBMSTNG would be right, to figure your 1/8mile you add about .5 onto it so you would have ran 7.8-7.9 That’s a solid run still with great 60’!
yea it's irvington and i'm from mobile....thanks for the compliments guys...i was ecstatic about the time...7.8 would be great bc i pulled off a 12.5 @ 115 with a 8.2 in the 1/8th so if i pulled off a 7.8 it would mean i could probably pull off a 12.1 in the 1/4th
i moved to mobile about a year ago and been to irvington a couple times. finally getting the tune worked out on my car and plan to get the bottle filled and see what it will run. maybe i'll see u down there.
ur right down the road from me then, dawes and cottage hill. been out there once. i dont know anyone down here so i do go out much though. if it dont rain this friday my girl has plans so ill be free to go have a little fun, i might ride out.
dude seriously ride out around 9:45 to brunos and look for a black stang either on black rims or silver drag rims with locking hood pins that will be me...we need another stang out there
