carb problem or should I look elsewhere

I have an Autolite 4100 and here's the problem.

I get into it a bit and have a little fun
I stop someplace (gettting gas etc) and put it in park and let it idle.
When I get back in it, and put it in drive it, it dies.
I let it sit for a bit, and it cranks up and drives fine.

Could it be my electronic choke sticking ?
Where should I look ?

Sounds like your A/F mixture is set too rich and the plugs are fouling out. When you restart it, you probably step on the gas and it revs right up. Have someone check if black smoke comes out when you do that.

Not getting black smoke. I had someone check. The engine has been recently rebuilt, 2500 miles, not sure if that matters.

what is happening, at least it sounds this way, is that you are getting some heat soak in the carb. you can cure this with a phenolic spacer about 1" thick. you can also install an electric fuel pump to keep fuel to the carb.
