Any two way people out there? What is a decent, reasonably priced CB radio and possibly a model #?
CB is still alive and well in tow trucks and big rigs. On a recent but short hwy trip the truckers alerted me to road hazards. A ladder and a wheel barrel in the road.
I have a chepo radioshack and a calcomm antenna in my company truck. The radio is a permanently borrowed unit and the antenna was a trade over 7 years ago. Both seem to work fine. I dont have an amp, so the truckers boom from miles away and I cant reach them. I may want to get an amp in my personal truck, but for now lets concentrate on a radio.
But anyway, any two way hobbiest that can point me in the right direction. I am looking at a little wil mag antenna and I am undecided on the radio.
Sideband is interesting, but I think that the cost will be too high.
