Center Caps and Tires Inquiry

I do not know what happened to my other post, so I will try this again.

I have a 2000 GT with Cobra wheels.

I have 275 40 ZR17 on the rear and 255 40 ZR17 on the front. The profile looks real nice now, but I was thinking of going a little wider if possible.

On the 9" wheel, what is the widest I can go on the rear? Front? I believe I have seen 285's on a Cobra and I thought that looked nice. I saw 305 on an SVT, looked good but was a little too wide.

How will the car handle with 275 on the front and back? Just playing with some thoughts, I need some new sneakers soon.

Second - I wanted to replace the Cobra center cap symbol with the traditional Mustang symbol. However the center cap on the Mustang symbol stuck out too far and would not sit flush as the Cobra symbol does in the center of the rim. Is there a center cap I can go with that will fit in there? The Cobra wheels I have are from the 2000-2001 era Cobra. Being that I have a GT, I do not like the fact that I have the Cobra symbol in there, though I love the look of the Cobra wheel.

i have 03 cobra wheels w/ 275/40/17s on all four and it drives fine. Arent the 01 cobra wheels 17x8s though? if so, 275 is about as wide as you can go w/o upgrading your wheels.

i'd say you're about as wide as you can get without new rims

which cobra wheels are they?

if they are 9" wide then 275 should be on them... 255 is too damn narrow... 305's will fit but wont handle as good... if you want the handling with the giant tire get the 10.5" wheels for the rear.
