Changing springs

then for you it'll be the first big-scale project.

I do believe you can do it, but you've got to be safe.

spring compressors won't really work unless you score the Ford ones. You can successfully and safely do it with nothing other than jacks. Go to the corral.net and search "mfe method". That's easier than me typing it all out.

while it's apart, now is a DAMNED good time to replace your a arm bushings with poly units, and put new ball joints in.

set aside a weekend, maybe two for the entire project, and bring a friend.

I used chain and wrapped it around and locked it to the frame and my spring just in case so it wouldn't fly out.

I just changed my front springs this weekend, I put in H&R sports though. I used the MFE method and it worked well. Follow the instructions very carefully and take your time. If you have a big heavy duty floor jack that is a def plus. Small ones will make it more difficult. If your car has the original factory parts on it, it may be difficult to brake the A arm bolts loose, a big ratchet is your friend. good luck with it.
