clutch adjustment please help!!

Alrighty the new clutch is in and working, everything went real smooth except the off road h pipe was crap and fit like crap so i took it off and put the stock back on and am sending that one back, the clutch feels good and is grabbing good, i have not nailed it real hard yet, the only issue i have is that there is free play at the top of the pedal how do i get rid of this it has not seemed to change or anything, i jave heard the clutch click when depressed all the way to the floor so it is adjusting like it should and is fine down below i just have too much free play up at the top so any help on how to get rid of it would be great, do i need a new cable???? thanks for the help Dan
