Clutch Cable Identification

I have a 2000 GT 5 speed. I am the 3rd owner and have had the car for almost 6 years. The clutch will not disengage so I started to check it out and find the plastic/rubber covering on the cable is split and going in one direction and the inter metal housing in the another direction. A little history about the car, is that one of the previous owner at one time did modifications to the car and than removed them. So before I order a new cable I want to make sure a Ford cable will fit. There is no firewall adjuster. What else should I look for?

Thanks,
Stan

If there is no firewall adjuster than an OEM cable should fit fine. You can look under the driverside dash to see if there is an aftermarket quadrant, stock should be a whitish colored plastic piece.

IMO, the OEM cables are the best ones to use.
