so i took my car to the track a few weeks ago and didn't do quite as good as i had hoped. i think it is because my car would not let me shift fast enough (T5). half of the runs i made, it grinded and i couldnt even get it into 2nd, when driving normal on the street its not a problem. it also took a while for it to slip into 3rd and 4th as well. i had the clutch slammed all the way to the floor every time. The thing about my clutch is that it catches about an inch off the floor. wondering what i could do to get faster, smoother shifts.

Can you try removing slack from the cable to be sure it fully disengages (and move the friction point higher up)?

If it has the stock quadrant and pawl assembly, pull up on the clutch pedal.

If you have an aftermarket quadrant, either remove slack via the firewall adjuster or the nut on the fork-end of an adjustable cable.
