I just got my new tranny installed last night and hooked up the clutch cable. First time I went to push on the clutch pedal with my hand to test it out, it popped and hit the floor. My guess is it's probably just the stock quadrant being a piece of crap and will probably have to be replaced with an aftermarket piece.

My question is, if it's not the quadrant, is there anything else it might be?

I just did a T-5 swap my self and I had the same problem. I tried a BBK quadrant with a stock cable and the clutch wouldn't release all the way so I bought a steeda double hook quadrant, a fire wall adjuster, and an adjustable cable and all problems solved. Good luck.
