clutch quadrant adjustment HELP!

I have a triple hook quadrant and stock non adj OEM style cable and firewall adj......with cable on 2nd hook cable is real tight i have firewall adj all the way in, clutch pedal lets out real high up and pedal is real heavy. My question is with cable on first hook will i be able to take out slack with firewall adjuster? or is distance from one hook to another on quadrant more than full adj of threads on firewall adj?
