Clutch Quadrant help

Ok, I have the old quadrant off, the springs off, the new quadrant on.

My question is, the old springs used to return the clutch pedal up to the normal position. With the new quadrant, is the clutch cable now what keeps tension on the pedal???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this mean the pilot bearing (or throw out, always get them confused) will be always engaged and thusly wear faster??

I have an adjustable cable, but is the firewall adjuster a requirement for a new quadrant??

you dont need a firewall adjuster if you have an adjustable cable. you can use one but its not necessary. the springs on the stock quadrant where there to keep the adjustment and to adjust it when the clutch started to wear. the throwout bearing is always in contact with the pressure plate. nothing to worry about
