Well, now they called said it's the damn Thermostat. Is it even possible for this to be the whole problem? I thought the thermo was what read the temp of the coolant, and then relayed that info to the computer to tell it to turn on the fans or not to cool down the motor. This is what its purpose was in my old Grand Prix, but of course this is a different vehicle. Could that actually be the reason that nearly a gallon of coolant leaked out of my cooling system? This just sounds like bull**** to me. Although, I don't have much expereience with these Cobra DOHC motors. If anyone has any helpful information for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

I think I've heard 96 snakes had some cooling issues that were resolved for the 97-98's.

Sorry to hear about all this ***** man, I'm going through some of my own unneccesary bull as well.

Anyway, I was conteplating letting a very good female friend of mine practice some stick with my Cobra... not anymore. I just realized how easy ***** happens, just not going to risk it.

Let the insurance company total our the car. Buy a new one, and switch insurance companies. The accident isn't on your record, and if you buy a new car, it wouldn't be attached to the car either. $8000 seems outrageously low though. Maybe they weren't aware that it's a Cobra.

I just utterly hate my life right now. Now they say that the Temperature sensor is bad. And they said that they have to send it to some Ford dealer for them to fix it. And they wont even be able to look at it until Monday and it wont be finished until late next week. I am so damn angry right now. I can't even deal with this crap right now. I just want to get my damn Cobra back. I've been without it for a month now, and I can't do this anymore. Seriously, this is so depressing.

Who teaches a woman to drive stick on a COBRA? Hello? My g/f tries to get me to teach her, but she wouldn't dare ever try to drive mine.

There are other cars to learn on, not high performance ones.

Sorry to hear about it, but that IS what insurance is for. Live and learn.

az_r2d1, hey! wow! way to be a complete JACKA$$!! Good Job, considering I feel bad enough as is. And not to mention that now I have the snake back, you need to try and be a little more sympathetic, and a little less like a Pompus jacka$$. prick.

By the way, she's a friend, and I don't have to use my car to get some from a girl... you may have to, ya know with that impitence you have? aright good talk, shut up and drive.

And thank you COBRA_SVT_VERT, you have actually learned something, and may think twice about someone else putting their butt in the drivers seat. Thats what this was all about, not try to make me feel bad and shoot me down like az_r2d1, being the crotch pheasant he is.
