undefined Has anyone heard an exhaust system that sound more like a euro tuned exhaust rather than muscle car sound. I used to be a supra man until I drove a 03 cobra then I had to switch. I like the sound of a tuned exhaust like the Supra or BMW m3 or even like the Lamborghini/Ferrari sound. Quess its my back ground of sportbikes and supras. I'm not talk'in about the fart pipes like your local civic teenager has. My friend has a Magna flow exhaust with Bassani x pipe and it sounds good...just want to see if anyone has heard anything like this.

Drop in a 6-banger for the fart-can Supra sound or a 12-pounder for the lambo scream....but a V8 rumbles, no way around that

Definately stick with the X-pipes & a straight through style muffler - that is the best way to get that "European/exotic" exhaust note.

FWIW: Also feel free to check out the sound files over at www.mustangexhaust.com

My combo is a Bassani X-pipe with cats and a Borla Stinger Cat-back.

You aren't going to get any more exotic than that with 32v engine pulsing through the exhaust system :D

Unless it has 48V screaming at 7800RPM. Or 30V at 8000RPM. Those sound a lot more exotic to me than a v8 with an x-pipe.

Sorry, I thought we were narrowing our criteria to what engine he has, not some $250,000 exotic.

I'd go with Bassani or magnaflow X with Magnaflow Catback or Bassani Cat back.
(Borla is also good as far as quality, but I never heard it.)

Stay away form flowmaster and MAC if you dont want a rumble.

I read from magnaflow that the x pipe actually quiets the exhaust(db) becaus it causes less turbulance and increases flow...what do you guys think as far as cats or not to have them if pollution control allows for off road setup?

IMO the closest you will get is an FR500 Catback with a catted X pipe...

the cats will mellow the engine growl and the X from X pipe and the X from the FR500 (two X's in the exhaust total) will make it sound pretty exotic compared to other choices.

The fr500 by itself make the car have a smoother exhaust tone that all the others..

Note sice the fr500 has baffles that open at about 2500, below 2500 it might still sound muscle carish...

How dare you refer to a Ferrari as "some" $250,000 exotic.
