Code 15 - No Keep Alive Memory power to PCM pin 1 or bad PCM (Memory Test Failure). The voltage to the Keep Alive Memory (KAM) is missing (wiring problem) or the KAM is bad. The KAM holds all of the settings that the computer "learns" as it operates and all the stored error codes that are generated as a result of something malfunctioning while the engine is running. Use a voltmeter to check the voltage to the pin 1 on the computer - you should always have 12 volts. No constant 12 volts = bad wiring. If you do always have the 12 volts, then the KAM is bad and the computer is faulty.

I got that code one time because I didn't disconnect the battery long enough to clear the KAM. I must have caught it just as it was loosing power and it corrupted the KAM instead of erasing it. You can also try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and see if it goes away.

Good Luck, Don

thanks,i'll try checking volts to ECM and then disconnecting battery for a while. only other thing i did after replacing t-stat was pressure test system.found a couple of small leaks, tightened up t-stat hose and heatercore hose. wondering if possible heatercore leak under pressure(17lbs.)might have got computer or wires wet.
if i need a new one anyone know a good place for a remanufactured ECM or about how much. saw one place online that said they would reman. mine for $90.
