convertible top window replacement

hey there, i just picked up a 87 stang lx 5.0 convertible. guy had a brand new top and window put on, i brought it home and put the top down and busted the glass, now im pisssed. so now im wondering how hard is it to replace the rear window curtain part? also should i get another glass window or would plastic be ok , so that way i dont have to worry about busting it again. thanks in advance
