Well my coolant light under the tach has gotten to the point where its always on. I check my coolant level regularly so I know its an issue with the sensor. I have a 2000 GT and I was wondering how the sensor works. Is it a floater type of sensor or is it some sort of electrode sensor. Also does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem. Everytime someone rides in my car they go "Uh oh, whats that light mean?":bang: Thanks for all the help guys.

Same problem here. Mine has been on since before I bought it, coolant is full.

Supposidly the floater takes a dump after time and gets stuck, triggering the light. Thats what ive heard.

Is it possible to fix the float mechanism so it doesn't get stuck anymore? If I find out that I need to buy some new part that costs $100+, I'm going to disconnect the sensor to shut that light off.

Also, I noticed today that the light doesn't come on until the engine warms up. I wonder if the coolant level actually IS getting low in the reservoir once the thermostat opens up.
