Overall, I'm quite pleased. It's VERY hard to match anything with a tan interior but this actually turned out much better than I thought.
Bought them from a buddy of mine and put them in last night. He replaced his with Corbeau seats. His car is a vert so the rears wont work. I'll leave the stockers in for now, since they actually dont look bad with these seats. I'll eventually dye the sides of the rear seats to fully match. Funny you said that since my friends now nickname my car the 2V Cobra.
Thanks guys. The Cobra seats have much more side support, they really grab and hold you on those sharp turns. Not to mention the headrest actually works! Also, the driver's seat is 8-way adjustable. Only drawback is they are a little heavier, though not much.
Looks good! I need to go install all my stuff now...i have MGW/redline leather and tons a billet just sitting in boxes. Maybe this weekend i'll get to it...maybe.
Holy crap man!! You just put some life back into the way I view my tan/brown interior!! You're car's interior is my hero
^ lol you're welcome! I've been searching to spice up the tan interior so long but couldnt find anything to fancy my taste until I saw my buddy's 03 Cobra with these seats. I still wasnt sure if they would look right because I didnt know if the tan suede was the same color as the GT tan, which it is. Plus to this date, I haven't seen anyone else with this interior combo. But everything turned out quite well.
I figured i'd have to rip my interior out and re-do it in black to make it look good.. I was going to go with all black with Mach1 seats, but get the silver stripe replaced with white I may have to be on the lookout for some cobra seats like that, I love how much more supportive and comfy they are
Your interior looks great I must say! Your car is starting to look like a Cobra slowly but, surely lol. Did those 03-04 Cobra seats run you a arm and ten legs?
the seats look great, but lets talk about that 6spd setup you've got there - it looks factory!! I dont think anyone could sit in your car and say with certainty that it was ever an automatic. All in all, it looks great!
Very nice. I plan on doing the same eventually. Where did you get that steering wheel from? I'm loving the two tone.
MAN that looks awsome....from the gauges to the seats to the other little touches. Just looks sick, I wish I could do something to me interior, but my "speed"(re the commercial lol) wont let me add any weight, or really spend any money on things that dont make my car faster I justified my chin spoiler and antenna as helping aerodynamics and the grill delete as helping cooling...haha J/K. (but it did cross my mind)
Actually, the auto > manual swap is fairly straightforward. There was no drilling, or sawing involved since the auto and manual center consoles are identical. A few ppl were shocked when I told them the car was once an auto. The steering wheel is bone stock factory OEM. It came like that. A PITA to clean, but armor all vinyl wipes does the job. If you look closely on the second pic, you'll notice I've forgotten to add the passenger side seatbelt latch! I guess I'll put that in sometime tomorrow.. For now, it looks like my next little project, before the BIG one, will be a minor exterior makeover.
