I'm kind of new to building performance Fords but aren't the pistons, rods and crank usually sold as a balanced rotating assembly? Is it wise to break up the set this way?
How many miles on the crank, pistons and cam?

Well I don't think so. Because I just reused my Rods for my new build. I would have reused the pistons. But 1 of the cylinder walls got scored and to clean it up took a 60 over bore. So I needed new pistons and I also put in a forged Crank. The Motor had under 10,000 miles on it.
