That sucks, I enjoyed watching the croc hunter. although I knew he would be killed by an animal sooner or later, I always thoght he would be eaten by a crocodile.
DAMN that dude was Insane too. I loved his shows and met him once down in Fort Bragg. man, he died doing the thing he loved the most.
I wonder what the hell he was doing to/with the Stingray which would allow it to strike him hard enough to penetrate the heart and deliver a big enough dose of venom to kill him? It's too bad, he was pretty cool to watch and was a tremendous source of knowledge concerning all things zoology related. U.M
good ridence. He may have been in favor of protecting animals but I think he disrespected them more then anything and was just a show off for the camera Reminds me of Timmothy Tredwell except Tredwells case had alot more to it then just seeing how close he could get to a 12 foot crock w/ out getting arm bitten off.
I've watched him before and don't remember anything he 'taught' me. In fact, all I remember him teaching is how not to get your face bitten off when "going in for a closer look of this Shiela." You have to admit, he was pretty irresponsible. Either way, RIP ya crazy Aussie.
Its fine to be in favor of the protection of animals and having organizations and all that happy stuff but how does going on camera and seeing how much you can mess with and get close to a 12 foot crock do anything as far as protecting the species? "Hey look at me, Im a stupid aussie and I can feed this chicken to a wild crock and not get my face eaten"
Interesting you should post that pic. One of the morning shows, I think it was Good Morning America was just re-running an interview he gave after he was accused of child endangerment after that pic was taken. Interesting that show would choose that clip to remember him with.
There are some cold hearted @$$holes that post here. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you should be rooting for their death. Steve Irwin did a lot to help animals and educate the public about them. When I first saw the baby incident I thought he was getting overly confident and it was only a matter of time that something happened. His final lesson to the public might be that no matter how experienced you are always play it safe around animals.
I just saw the clip where he was holding his son and feeding the crock and his reaction after. " It is just perceived danger, I was in compleate control" Thats total When it comes to Nature we are never more in control. Nature can kick our ass at any time it wants regardless if its weather or wild animals. The only reason he was in control in that situation is b/c the crock decided not to bite his leg off. Thats what I mean by his disrepect, anyone who respects wild animals and nature is always aware that we never have the upper hand.
Nobody was rooting for his death. That would mean we would have had to post BEFORE he actually died. They are merely stating that it isn't entirely surprising, and he may have actually gotten what he deserved. I always felt as if he was intentionally antagonizing the animals for his own amusement.
Kinda hard to route for his death when there was no thread about him on here (recently) stating that it would be nice if he got killed.
I'm sure it was a fast way to go though. And to Uncle Meat, as I read it, he was swimming above the sting ray. It felt a threat and raised its 'tail'. As it happened, the sharp tail just hit him right to pierce his heart. So I don't think it was the venom that got him. Anyways, **** happens. He was quite a character and I'm sure he had a good nature. Maybe he'll be reborn as a talking crocodile.
