Curious: To Wrap Or Not To Wrap - Intake Pipe

Hello All,

With a Forced Induction car, does it do any good to wrap the intake pipe between the supercharger and the throttle body to reduce intake temps?

I don't imagine it'll make much of a difference. The air is in the intake tube for such a short period of time, I can't imagine it affecting its temperature much, if any at all. You'd be better off wrapping the headers and keeping under hood temperatures down as a whole across the board, than you would doing the intake pipe. Be aware though…wrapping your headers can shorten their life span. Mild steel will superheat and turn brittle…and the wrap has been known to hold moisture, which can lead to premature rusting. It’s kind of a trade off.
