not sure where the ad was posted but I got a reply like that on an autotrader ad. I forwarded it to customer support and they deleted it immediately no questions asked. Big SCAM. Those f'ers should be hung by their balls. But there's a sucker born every minute so I'm sure some people fall for it.
Seen so many scams like this it isn't even funny. Usually they are on ebay. As far as the VIN all they have to do is find one that belongs to that kind of car.
You can find threads about free car fax reports people will post vins and other peopel will use there free account for a vin number and then the scam artist can just take that info from that thread give it to you. Friend had a deal like this on a WS6 and a 03 cobra as a package deal for 20 grand lol
