The other day i got fed up with the first to second gear clunk so I took it in and gave them the TSB#04-26-13 and asked them to fix it. Later that day the tech called and told me the TSB# i gave him is for a grind and the clunk is normal drivetrain backlash. It kind of pissed me off because i told him i cant even shift into 2nd gear when its cold out and he said to bring it in this winter when it does it. So i got fed up and called the customer relations manager she was helpful and set up a time for me to drive it with a tech to show him the clunk i experience. I was wondering if you guys have anything else i could use against them to get this tranny repair done. Because i have a feeling that when I bring it in to the dealer and drive it ill just be fed more bull$hit.

he is hoping that because ford only pays 5.6 hours to remove the tranny and disassemble it and reinstall it in the car... It's a suck job that 99 percent of techs loose money on thats why he's avoiding it.

I am not sticking up forhim, just telling you how it is. If ford would pay the techs what it takes to fix the car then we would not have these problems.

Also I know you don't want to hear this, but according to ford warrenty policy we are not supposed to fix stuff we can not verify

Thanks for the replys, and yes by winter the car will have well over 40 k on it so that wont be an option. Ive read that thread, well the first 10 pages. I also posted on it as well. Thanks for the reply Mike Im pretty sure the guy that I drive it with will hear the clunk/will see it doesnt go into second as it should. Once he hears/feels the clunk will he have to fix the tranny?

I took it in the car in today to drive with a tech, he noticed a slight clunk. It wasnt as bad as usual. Usually I can barely go from first to second. He was really helpful and appologized for the first tech not doing anything about it. He said it will be done in about a week. Thanks for all ur posts.
