so i took my car to the track a few times over the summer, and i have to say, i expected a lot more out of it.
my best i could get was a 9.10 @76 mph on the street tires which is a big gain over my first run of 9.6 @73 but still unexpectedly slow.
i would like to be in the mid 8s on street tires, is that unreasonable??
specs about the car are in my sig,
also my calculator says its CR is @9.3:1
    vac secondary carb
    cam specs 218@.50 .456 lift

im thinking swapping the VS for a mechanical carb
and going to a larger split pattern camshaft, (ie, voodoo or a comp XE)
may help my situation a little bit
    any thoughts?

The easiest and quickest way for you to hit the 8s would be a set of slicks and a small shot of n2o. Just make sure you run prem fuel and back your timing a couple of deg and you should be good to go.

You are not spraying enough nitrous

wow lmao, i made this thread forever ago, and didn't see any replies and i eventually i forgot about it
swapped out to a XE268 cam and a 750 double pumper (carbs probably too big but the price was right) gonna see what i can get out of it on the street tires and then strap on the slicks

my SOTP dyno says it feels alot stronger now so and im gonna see what it does this weekend if the weathers nice

    and no nitrous yet......
