Do I have to have GT body parts for a Cobra kit to work? (pics)

Do I have to have GT body parts to be able to get Cobra body kits or Stalker stuff to fit on my car?

    Compare this GT

To this LX (kinda like mine)

None of the bottom panels are the same at all. The LX just pretty much has nothing there. I notice that in the Mustang mags, some of the body kits, like the Cobra conversion from Cervini's, are listed as being for GTs. If the only difference is that the Cobra kit doesn't come with a front bumper cover, then I can just get a Stalker one, no big deal. I just want to make sure that ther aren't other differences that would keep a Cobra kit from fitting my car.

    Here is the Cobra kit

As you can see, there is no front bumper cover, but I could just use this...

With all that, I should be set, right?

    Thanks for any imput guys!
    :)

Yep, that'll work. The Cobra front is the same as the GT front, so you can pretty much put any front bumper that would fit an LX on and it'll work okay.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the conformation. The same is true for the sides and rear I'm guessing then.

I think you need GT molding though. The LX molding is smaller, and will not match the cobra bumper I beleive.
As you can see, you would have to at least change the door molding.....

Hmmm. I think you're right. I have not seen anybody selling door molding for these cars. Where would you get that? Body shop? Online?

If you get the Cobra kit from Cervinis you will be fine using the Stalker front bumper and you will not need any extra hardware or mounts. That is the kit I used on mine.

All the pics on your site show up as "remote linking forbidden", so I can't see the pics. Was your car originaly an LX? Did you have to get new molding?
