Do I need cam gears?

I ordered new VT stage 1 cams and I am going to install them before I put in my PI motor. I will have the front timing cover off and the engine is from a 2000GT...I was told that I will have press on cam gears. Do I have to buy new cam gears or can they be pressed onto the new cams?

yeah,because all the aftermarket cams are bolt on type i think.u should get yourself a set of adjustble cam gears so you can degree the cams.there is some hp to be had in degreeing the cams usually.
