Do you lose sound with x or y pipe?

    Do you lose sound with x or y pipe? insted of strait back pipe i want a deeper sound for my mustang i have to fix my exhaust system right now someone welded a custom exhaust togeather 2.5 true duel no y or x pipe problem is they did a ****y job i have exhaust leeks up neer the cat and my exhaust system sit's 4 in down from the frame this was like this when i bought the car it is really loud i like it but now from the exhaust being to low i cracked my headers from bottoming out and i just want to replace it and do it the right way not no half aZz job you no so my question is if i bought the pypes 2.5 duel exhaust with high flow x-pipe from rpmoutlet with the chrome shorty headers would my car be that deep loud sound or what sugestions would you have for what exhaust system to get thanks

    stay away from a y-pipe, you lose both sound and power. an x-pipe has better flow and an h-pipe has a slightly deeper sound. different mufflers sound better with different pipes. headers will deepen the tone no matter what

    When I had my '99 V6, one thing I liked about it is that it was QUIET. V6 is more of a cruiser to me, and that's how I liked mine
