I've been toying with the idea of a "stealth" system using 2 6 1/2 or 6 inch woofers in the doors instead of 1 10 inch woofer + enclosure out back. The 2 6 inchers would also let me run an amplified head unit instead of needing an external amplifier and would greatly reduce the under the dash complexity.
Does anyone know of a brand of woofer that would fit in the stock 87-93 door pockets and clear the window the way the stock speakers do? I figured those cardboard speakers thump pretty well off the measly stock amp, some real woofers juiced up would make some serious bass and use an existing enclosure (the doors) rather than needing their own
