downpipe question

ok i am fiishing my t-5 swap tommorow......

question is how much of a downpipe do i need " my buddy cut the stock exhaust pipe right before the cat to get the al4d out....

anyhow i was wondering if its safe to drive a short distance with only a short downpipe ? would it be safe ?

Safe for the car, yes. Safe in terms of you maybe getting pulled over because it'll be loud as hell, not so much.
